Chasing Fairy Tales: Japan was an absolute joy to produce for the Colchester Fringe in 2021! It was a wildly inventive, highly visual puppet show that brought traditional Japanese folklore to life with a fresh, contemporary energy. As a producer, I loved the challenge of orchestrating the intricate logistics of a fringe festival run—balancing tight get-ins, limited budgets, and the delicate nature of building beautiful, bespoke puppets. It was an intimate piece of children's theatre that proved you don't need a massive, multi-million-pound stage to create profound, enchanting theatrical magic for a live audience.
